The Contractor will provide: 1. Prior to a scheduled appointment, the Contractor shall review the employee’s job description, essential functions checklist and any other relevant information deemed necessary for the evaluation in accordance with the County Department of Public Safety’s guidelines and requirements. All evaluations for the Sheriff’s Office shall be conducted in accordance with the standards and guidelines established by the International Association of Chief of Police (IACP). 2. The Contractor shall provide a thorough, face to face psychological evaluation to assess factors without limitations: a. An individual’s cognitive abilities, b. Emotional functioning, c. Ability of the individual to perform the essential function(s) of the position, d. Determine whether or not the employee is a threat to themselves or others, e. Provide a recommendation on the ability of the individual to return to work, and f. Provide screenings for approximately 10 to 20 new hires/volunteers. 3. Contractor will submit the initial evaluation by fax or secure email to the requesting County Department within 48 hours of completion. The Sheriff’s Office requires a report be submitted to the Training and Recruiting Lieutenant or designee within 72 hours regarding employment consideration. Each report will summarize testing results, make a recommendation for the final hiring, and indicate a “pass” or “fail”. 4. Contractor will then prepare a comprehensive written report within 10 business days following the evaluation. The report should include: a. Recommendation of employability, b. The extent and permanence of the employee’s medical condition, if any, c. How the individual can be returned to work in a safe manner, if possible, and d. Answer any and all written questions that may be requested by the County regarding the evaluation(s).
