When required, this work shall include, but not be limited to the following (exact scope shall be negotiated on a project by project basis): 1. Design A. Preliminary Design and Plans Preliminary design shall be consistent with plans development at a 30% completion stage. Preliminary plan services may include, but are not limited to the following: • Plan and profile plans for intersections, roadways, and interchanges • Preliminary traffic control plans • Preliminary signalization and lighting plans • Preliminary signing and pavement marking plans • Preliminary drainage plans • Preliminary bridge/structure plans • Geotechnical investigation, preliminary report and recommendations • Preliminary pavement recommendations/design • Preliminary ITS plans • Preparation of SWPPP Plans for either NMDOT-lead design projects and/or Maintenance Projects • Preliminary foundation plans for maintenance related buildings, such as salt domes, maintenance storage buildings, etc. • General computer aided design (CAD) for minor projects in support of NMDOT Operations, such as Overlays, Mill and Inlays, Park and Ride Facilities, Public Relations Visuals, etc. • Surveys • Subsurface Utility Exploration (SUE) • Project quantities • Project Estimate • Project notes B. Final Design The Contractor may be required to prepare Final Plans Submittal (All the way through the PS&E stage). Final plans may be full or partial, as requested in writing by the District Engineering Support Section.
