1) Review search and screening procedures developed by UNM and the search committee and make suggestions for modifications or additions. 2) May advise in the process to develop qualifications including familiarizing themselves with the University’s strategic plans and challenges in order to advise the Chair and the search committee on the important qualities, qualifications, and strengths each candidate must possess. 3) Review the advertisement and recruitment process and make suggestions for modification. 4) Engage in a thorough and innovative search process, utilizing a network of contacts, to identify potential candidates who would have not otherwise applied and to recruit a robust applicant pool of well-qualified candidates. 5) Contact nominees and candidates to ascertain a level of interest in being further considered (or help coordinate a member of the Search Committee in doing so, in specific instances where that approach is judged preferable by the Committee). 6) Maintain gender and ethnicity demographic information to evaluate the diversity of the pool. 7) Maintain all identifying information about candidates in strict confidentiality, furnishing such information only to the Search Committee. 8) Consistent with the advertisement as published, assist the Search Committee in developing criteria for screening candidates and, if requested by UNM, advise in developing criteria for making the final decision. 9) Assist in the search and screening process, as requested by the chair of the Search Committee, by obtaining appropriate authorizations from candidates and then conducting background investigations, checking references and interviewing candidates. Assist the Search Committee during meetings, as requested by the chair. 10) Provide advice and guidance to the Chair, Search Committee, and hiring official throughout the process. 11) Provide additional services as requested.
