• Provide legal counsel on labor and employment related matters, which may include, but not limited to, human resources issues, wage and hour law, workers’ compensation, unemployment and other state agency claims, labor relations, employee benefits, employment agreements and policy related issues, FMLA matters, employment related litigation, grievances and arbitrations and generally assists the General Counsel in matters as requested; • Represent HACC in labor related legal matters, including advising on and negotiating the terms of various collective bargaining agreements; • Represent HACC in grievance matters and hearings, including handling submissions of the records thereof; • Preparing for and conducting any arbitrations resulting from grievances and the development and interpretation of HACC related policies and programs related to employees. File and advocate on behalf of HACC in appeals for HACC labor matters; • Advise and assist with HACC policies relating to employees and employee benefits; • Assist in the preparation and review of employment related documents; • Defense of the Authority during litigation arising out of the course of operations of the Authority. • Handle all aspects of litigation and pre-litigation employment matters; • Shape employment arbitration and litigation strategies, and implement such strategies; • Prepare and negotiate settlement agreements; • Assist with and respond to EEOC and other administrative charges. • Advising and consulting with the HACC General Counsel on all personnel matters and personnel policies and procedures. • Review, update, and draft personnel policies and procedures, consistent with applicable State and Federal rules and regulations
