Specifications include, but are not limited to: DIAMETERS • 1.50inch/38mm • 1.75inch/44mm • 2.005in/51mm • 2.50inch/64mm • 3.00/76mm • Jackets The inner hose jacket alone shall be National Fire Protection Association compliant hose, made with filament polyester wrap and weft yarn. The outer jacket shall be made with polyester wrap yarn and a minimum of 10-filament polyester welt yarn. The outer jacket shall have one of the standard NFPA colors with high performance polymeric dispersion. The hose must use a jacket with at least a test pressure of 400PSI/2755 KPA. • Lining The lining must be made from polyurethane and must yield an extremely low-pressure loss. Hoses made using adhesives of any type will not be accepted. The lining shall be approved for use with potable water. • Flexibility The hose must remain flexible to -65 degrees Fahrenheit (-55 degrees) • Flow and Friction 1 3/4 inch (44mm) diameter @ 100 USGPM (379LPM), shall not exceed 6.9PSI (48kPa) loss per 100 feet (30.5M) • Service, Test, Burst, Pressures Minimum service, test and burst pressures shall be as detailed in the specifications table above. • Kink Test High Pressure: A full length shall sustain a hydrostatic pressure of 600psi/4140 kPa while kinked. Low Pressure: For sizes up to 2 1/2 "/64mm, the hose shall not kink when formed into a 25"/64 cm wide loop (outside measure) at 60 psi / 415 kPa internal water pressure. For 3" / 76mm size, the hose shall not kink when formed into a 36'/91cm wide loop (outside measure) at 60 psi/ 415 kPa internal water pressure. • Weight Each length of fire shall not weigh more than indicated in the specification table. • Couplings The male coupling and female swivel nut must both have a recessed area to facilitate color and bar coding/or identification markings. • Manufacture Both hose and couplings must be National Fire Protection Association compliant. • Standards Hose must be UL approved in all size and UL labeled when requested.
