Specifications include, but are not limited to: Center for Historic American Building Arts (CHABA) and the City of Bridgeton are seeking qualifications from prospective contractors specializing in preservation and restoration construction work. Project includes removal of existing systems and construction of footers, columns, beams and lintels in basement, repair of damaged existing beams and floor boards and finishing of repaired floors; excavation for installation of underground electrical service. Installation of 200 Amp service, excavation under chimney to determine adequacy of chimney foundation, the installation of structural steel framing, concrete footers and additional wood framing within the basement level of the building to properly support the first floor for loading imposed Assembly (A-3) use and occupancy. Project has received a grant from Garden State Historic Preservation Trust Fund through New Jersey Historic Trust.
