Specifications include, but are not limited to:INVITATION FOR BIDS PUBLIC NOTICE is hereby given that the Board of Education of the Township of Montclair in the County of Essex will receive and open sealed proposals in the Board of Education Office, 22 Valley Road, Montclair, New Jersey 07042 on the following date: February 26,2015 at 11:00 A. M. for the following projects, each partially funded by the SDA. Video Surveillance, Access Controls A Durest Alarms at Various Schools (Project No. 1401MCS1) Air Conditioning of Room 14 at the High School (Project No. 1418MCHS) Project Manuals and Plans covering the above may be obtained at the office of Richard Rigolo/Archltect, 151 Grove Street, Clifton, N.J. 07013 on or after February 10. 2015 between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m., Monday through Thursday or by appointment on Fridays, up to three calendar days before the bid date. No document shall be mailed or sent by courier. A non-refundable fee of $30.00 is required for each set, payable to Richard Rigolo/Architect. All bids must be in the form of proposal as prepared by the Architect, and in sealed envelope with the name of the bidder and the project clearly marked on the outside of the envelope and must be accompanied by the following: 1. A bid bond and consent of surety or consent of surety and a certified check made payable to the Board of Education of the Township of Montclair in an amount not less than ten percent (10%) of the bid. (But in no case in excess of $20,000). 2. Per Public Law 1999, Chapter 440 bidders and subcontractors for subcontracts over $20,000 for trades as designated in the law dust be prequalified by the State of New Jersey- Dept. of Treasury, Division of Property Management and Construction (DPMC) and must submit a Notice of Classification issued by the Authority and a signed notarized affidavit of Total Amount of Uncompleted Contracts. No bids over 120,000 will be accepted without these documents. 3. For projects funded in whole or in part by the Schools Construction Corporation/New Jersey Economic Development Authority (SCC or EDA) per Public Law 2000, Chapter 72 bidders and subcontractors for subcontracts over $20,000 far trades as designated in the law must be prequalified by the Authority and must submit a letter of classification issued by me Authority. 4. Bidder information sheets as called for in the Project Manual. 5. A signed non-collusion affidavit as called for in the Project Manual. 6. An ownership participation statement with list of names and addresses of all stockholders of or partners with a 10% or more interest in accordance with Chapter 33, NJ.S.A. Laws of 1977. 7. Bidders are required to comply with the requirements of N.J.S A, 10:5-31 et seq. and NJ.A.C- 17:27, for mandatory equal employment opportunity. 8. Statement of compliance with the New Jersey Prevailing Wage Act, Chapter 150, Laws of 1963, as amended and to all similar laws of the State of New Jersey and the Federal Government. 9. For Overall or combined bids, for each subcontractor for General construction work, Plumbing and gas fitting work, Heating and ventilating systems and equipment, Electrical work and Structural steel and ornamental iron work where the value of die work is over $20,000 provide name, address, DPMC Classification and affidavit of Uncompleted Contracts, SCC Classification and evidence of performance security as required by law. 10. Registration with the Commissioner of Labor: A letter of registration or certificate from the Commissioner of Labor as required by the New Jersey Public Works Contractor Registration Act. Required also for each subcontractor listed above. 11. Business Registration Certificate with the New Jersey Division of Revenue, in accordance with Public Law. 2004 Chapter 57. The Board of Education is not responsible for proposals which are lost or misdirected in the mail. The Board of Education reserves the right to reject any or all bids, to waive any informality and to accept that bid which, in its sole and absolute judgment, will serve best the Board of Education's interest.
