The Township of Franklin is seeking bids for a contractor to furnish and deliver water meter vaults. The vaults are for the following meter sizes, 4”, 6”, 8”, and 10”. The vaults shall include but not be limited to the following internal components. • Access hatch • Reinforced plastic ladder rungs spaced 12” o.c. • Pipe supports and anchors • Link seal sleeves Drawings/plans for this bid are free of charge and MUST be obtained in person at the office of the Purchasing Administrator, during regular business hours 8:30 am thru 4:00pm on or after May1, 2025 All vaults shall be constructed with 6” concrete walls and 8” concrete base slab. Base slab shall have a 2” slope to 12”x 12” sump pit. Constructed at 5,000 psi minimum strength at 28 days. Steel reinforcing shall conform to ASTM A615 Grade 60. Cover to steel is 1” minimum. The construction joint shall be Butyl Rubber Resin or approved equivalent. Vaults shall meet AASTM C858 and ACI 318 with ASSHTO HS-20 loading. Access hatches shall be: • Extruded aluminum channel frames • Double leaf construction • Diamond pattern tread plate ¼” aluminum cover with rain channel • Heavy forged Type 316 stainless steel hinges with type 316 stainless steel pins • Type 316 stainless steel slam lock with fixed interior handle and removal turn lift handle • Hatch door shall be lockable with padlock • Compression spring operators enclosed in telescopic tubes. Auto hold open with release handle automatically locks in the open position • Built in epdm cushion gasket • Mill finish aluminum with bituminous coating applied to exterior of frame Ladder Rungs shall be: • Copolymer polypropylene plastic • Grade 60 steel reinforcement • Meets ASTM-C478, ASTM D-4101, ASTM A-615 AASHTO M-199 specifications Pipe Support and anchors shall be: • Steel supports • 9” threaded risers to provide 6” of adjustments • 30” tall base, should be able to cut in the field if need be • Saddle mount • All thread adjusters zinc plated • Powder coated in red Vault sizing shall be per the detail plans provided.
