Y The successful applicant shall serve in an advisory capacity to the Millburn Township Committee and will render legal consultation and advice on matters submitted for review, study, recommendation or comment. Any experience or knowledge of matters directly affecting the Township should be addressed. A. GENERAL CRITERIA The position of Township Attorney provides that for a fixed annual retainer the attorney shall perform the following: i. Attendance at regularly and specially scheduled Township Committee meetings, being approximately 21 regularly scheduled meetings and special meetings as required. ii. Conferences and meetings with the Business Administrator, governing body and other personnel in the Township involving services of a usual and customary nature. iii. Preparation of resolutions as directed by the Township Committee and/or Business Administrator. iv. Preparation of reports regarding the status of Township matters. v. Preparation of ordinances of a general nature unless of a nature or extend described as Other Legal Services. vi. Routine review of correspondence, all Professional Service and other contracts, performance guarantees and files in relation to miscellaneous questions of a usual nature and not amounting to Other Legal Services. vii. Advice on OPRA requests and compliance. viii.Advice on legal inquiries from the Police Department, Municipal Library, Fire Department, Board of Health, Township Forester, Zoning, Construction Code, Engineering matters. ix. Representation of the Township or its officials in litigation or administrative hearings. x. Such other duties as may be requested by the Business Administrator.
