Specifications include, but are not limited to: Ocean County Department of Vehicle Services seeks a contractor to provide contracted tire services for the County fleet of over 1,000 vehicles. The County will supply any new tires that are needed for a vehicle/equipment to the successful bidder. Tires are purchased under State Contract and County Bid. All tires are to be returned to the County of Ocean. The bidder’s technicians are to be certified. They must possess a current certificate from the Tire Industry Association, Commercial Service Tire Technician. Proof of certificate must be available upon request. Minimum equipment needed by bidder to accomplish task: Service truck – fully equipped and self-contained fleet service truck with equipment to do emergency breakdown service on the road, i.e., for safety they must have tire cages, stand away hoses, stand away inflation apparatus, jack stands capable of handling all our equipment and a boom if necessary. All equipment must be owned by bidder and readily available. Bidder to submit list of equipment with bid. Flat Repair Loose – Light Truck and Front Farm (Tire not on vehicle) To be picked up at any one of our facilities as requested and returned to the same location. Maximum turnaround time for this process is forty-eight (48) hours. No plug repairs will be allowed. All repairs must be in accordance with RMA (Rubber Manufacturers Association) accepted guidelines. No external repair units on over the road speed rated tires will be allowed. Loose repairs are not to be done at our facilities, but at the successful bidder’s facility. Dismount from rim/wheel, repair injury from inside with proper size and type repair unit, inspect rim/wheel, remount tire and inflate to proper air pressure. Flat Repair Loose – Large Truck and Bus (On/Off Vehicle/Equipment) Vendor will be notified of size/type of tire and location of vehicle/equipment. No plug repairs allowed. All repairs must be in accordance with RMA accepted guidelines. No external repair units on over the road speed rated tires will be allowed. Remove from vehicle/equipment, dismount from rim/wheel, repair injury from inside with proper size and type repair unit, inspect rim/wheel, remount tire on rim/wheel to proper air pressure, replace on vehicle/equipment. Mount and Dismount Loose Tires Dismount old tire from rim/wheel. Mount new tire or repaired tire on rim/wheel, inflate tire in accordance with the proper industry standard
