Specifications include, but are not limited to: The Board of Education is seeking proposals to provide educational Substitute Staffing Services for Students with Disabilities on an “as needed” basis for the District. Educational substitute staffing is considered to be the following positions: • Teachers • Paraprofessionals/Teacher Aides/Instructional Assistants SCOPE OF SERVICES: SUBSTITUTE TEACHER The contractor is to provide qualified personnel who will perform the following services while in the District. The substitute teacher • Must have the ability to maintain a positive learning environment; • Must have strong interpersonal and communication skills, including the effective use of technology in the classroom. • Is responsible for implementing and aligning the lesson plan so that the children’s education continues as smoothly and completely as possible in the absence of their regular teacher. In the absence of the regular classroom teacher, the substitute teacher helps students learn the subject matter and/or skills required for scheduled lessons and provides meaningful instruction for assigned classrooms. Performance Responsibilities of the Substitute Teacher • Reports to the school office at the beginning of the school day to pick up required materials/schedule of classes. At the end of the school day, the teacher returns the materials. Follows sign-out procedures as prescribed by the school principal.
