The contractor must be able to provide sufficient relief drivers and/or operators to insure that all equipment called-out may be required to be operational throughout the entire storm event, which includes the clean-up operations following the actual storm. The Bernards Township Department of Public Works will not furnish each successful bidder a snowplow or any other equipment to the contractor. Equipment defined elsewhere herein as “Other Equipment” to be provided by the successful bidder will be fully equipped to satisfactorily perform operational functions consisting of snow plowing, snow removal and/or the loading of vehicles with materials such as snow, abrasives, anti/deicing chemicals, as well as excavation, grading and other construction site activities. When plowing parking lots, snow that is removed is not to be placed where it will become an obstruction to roadways, driveways, sidewalks or pedestrian access to parking lots or sidewalks. When plowing streets, intersections and cul-de-sacs, snow that is removed shall not be placed where it will obstruct sidewalks, driveways or pedestrian or vehicular access.
