This specification includes the supply and delivery of calcium chloride used in the removal of ice and snow buildup on roadways. The bidder shall have a representative who is knowledgeable about calcium chloride and is available for an onsite visit within 12 hours of notification. Deliveries shall be made in truck loads of 1,000 gallons or more. The 32% liquid calcium chloride shall be provided by the manufacturer in a true solution and shall not be reconstituted from flake or any other solid form of calcium chloride. The MCCPC members retain the right to check the strength of the solution with a hydrometer and to reject and have removed, at the bidder’s expense, any calcium chloride that does not meet the solution strength requirements.
