1. Legal Guidance and Advisory Services • Provide legal advice on the interpretation and application of the Local Redevelopment and Housing Law (N.J.S.A. 40A:12A-1 et seq.). • Advise on the designation of redevelopment areas and preparation/adoption of redevelopment plans. • Assist in the negotiation, drafting, and review of redevelopment agreements and related documents. 2. Document Preparation and Review • Draft and review ordinances, resolutions, contracts, and legal notices related to redevelopment. • Prepare legal memoranda and advisory opinions as requested by the Borough. 3. Representation and Litigation • Represent the Borough in litigation related to redevelopment matters in state and federal courts, and administrative agencies. • Coordinate with the Borough Attorney on matters that overlap with general municipal legal issues. 4. Public Meetings and Hearings • Attend Borough Council meetings, Planning Board meetings, and other public hearings as requested. • Provide legal support during public presentations and stakeholder engagement sessions. 5. Redevelopment Agreement Oversight • Monitor compliance with executed redevelopment agreements. • Advise on enforcement actions or amendments to agreements as necessary
