Specifications include, but are not limited to: Snow Plowing vehicles shall be classified as follows: CLASS A- 26,000 lbs. and over gross vehicle weight CLASS B- 20,000 lbs. to 25,999 lbs. gross vehicle weight CLASS C- 6,500 lbs. to 19,999 lbs. such as 2 and ¾ ton pick-up trucks with Minimum 8’ blade and 2-3 cu .yd. dump trucks CLASS D- Small 4 wheel drive vehicles such as Jeeps, Explores, Blazers, etc. for intersections and narrow streets regardless of plow size. CLASS E- Front Loader minimum 3 cu. yd. bucket and up. 2.1 Once the contractor is activated, the City shall assign each contractor to an area, street or streets, section or sections within the City, and a check-in point. 2.2 The contractor shall be required to plow when called upon to do so by the Director of Public Works or other authorized DPW personnel. The contractor shall, all times, report to the assigned check-in point directly after the initial “call out” request is received by the contractor. The City shall inform the contractor when to start and stop plowing. NO WAITING/STAND-BY TIME SHALL BE ALLOWED. 2.3 Contractor shall respond to the City upon notification by the Director of Public Works within 3 hours of notification. The director shall make every effort for early notification in light of a pending major storm. 2.4 The contractor shall follow the same procedure upon completion of plowing operations, i.e. reporting back to the check-in point.
