The District anticipates awarding the contract for services the statutory length of which contract is for three-years, with the option for no more than one two-year, or two one-year, extensions, subject to the following limitations as outlined in NJSA 18A:18A-42 c. The contractor for the price bid shall furnish, at their own expense and without liability to the East Orange Board of Education, all labor necessary and proper to provide the adequate uninterrupted collection of refuse as defined, and for the removal to a disposal site outside of the city limits, in accordance with applicable law and the Essex County Solid Waste Management Plan, of all refuse as defined on all days of the year, during the term of the Contract, and in accordance with the Specification, excluding the following: Holiday List Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Day Independence Day Presidents’ Day Labor Day Good Friday Thanksgiving Day (2) Memorial Day Winter Vacation The Contractor will be required and permitted to enter upon East Orange Board of Education property to collect garbage and refuse from refuse containers mechanical pick-up or mechanical refuse compactors, both of the front loading type up to and including four (4) cubic yards, six (6) cubic yards in size and eight (8) cubic yard front loaded and up to 25 cubic yard compactors. More than one dumpster may be located in a location depending upon the volume of garbage. Refuse containers and compactors shall be provided by the Board. Contractor is not allowed to leave garbage on ground for any reason and must clean around the container(s) after pick up. The Contractor will be provided with a key to the gate(s) and will close and lock the gate(s) after emptying the containers.
