1. The purchase, at contractor's expense, of the Electronic Cost Report (ECR) software, which is required by the Medicare program. 2. Installation and update of the Electronic Cost Report (ECR) software. 3. All communications and dealings with the ECR software vendor regarding any problems with the software. 4. Preparation of applicable schedules and forms required and/or necessary for the filing of the Medicare, Medicaid and Psychiatric State Aid cost reports. 5. Correspondence with the New Jersey Department of Human Services for the initial submission of the Psychiatric State Aid cost report. 6. Correspondence with the Medicare Intermediary for the initial submission of the Medicare/Medicaid cost report. 7. Preparation of detailed working paper files to support the submitted costs reports. The following tasks are not the responsibility of the contractor and shall be provided by the County: A. Data collection tasks that require compilation of the Hospital's data, which is not readily available on a cumulative year-to-date basis (i.e., Medicare Part A and Part B patient specific bad debt information presented on the CMS required worksheet format; Medicare Part A, Medicaid or State Aid patient days; Medicare Part B Ancillary Service Units. etc.). 8. Analysis of transaction details to differentiate specific costs or statistical data that are required for the cost reports, but not readily available on a cumulative year-to-date basis from the Hospital's financial reporting system. 9. Development of any systems to accurately account for specific data that is required for the preparation of the cost reports. 10. Copying of voluminous records or documents that may be required as supporting documentation for the cost reports (i.e., court orders; Medicare Remittance documents; vendor contracts, etc.). 11. Assistance for the review, assessment or maintenance of any automated systems, including data entry.
