The Consultant firm shall provide the County of Monmouth with on-call professional engineering services which are to include, but not necessarily be limited to, evaluation of problem conditions identified by Monmouth County, recommendations for repairs of these conditions, and upon Monmouth County’s approval, the administration and inspection of maintenance activities, on an as-needed basis. When requested, the selected Consultant will be required to respond within two (2) hours of being notified. The Consultant firms(s) will evaluate the conditions identified by Monmouth County and prepare written recommendations, sketches, plans, specifications, and procedures as necessary to repair the defects or conditions. Monmouth County will review and approve all proposed work. Repair and/or maintenance work will be performed by Monmouth County Bridge Maintenance Division personnel and/or private Contractors. However, the Consultant will be required to oversee and direct the work as well as provide necessary research and procurement assistance in securing specialized electrical and mechanical components necessary to accomplish the work. In the event that an assignment is made prior to the expiration date of the contract and work must extend past that date, the work shall be performed to complete the assignment as long as the contract ceiling is not exceeded. Traffic control required for the repairs and maintenance activities will not be included in this contract. Traffic control will be provided by Monmouth County when necessary.
