Research has shown that, with proper service coordination and support, expectant and parenting teens can be successful at attaining educational goals. Awardee shall receive funding to enhance the current support services provided by the Trenton SBYSP PLP to include expectant, parenting and noncustodial teens attending TBOE high schools. PROJECT GOALS: • Improve child and maternal health outcomes • Improve pregnancy spacing and reduce the likelihood of a repeat pregnancy • Improve parenting skills for mothers, fathers, and families • Strengthen father involvement and co-parenting relationships, as appropriate • Increase education and prevention of intimate partner violence • Increase awareness and coordination of available state and local resources to better support expectant and parenting teens and their families • Increase post-secondary exploration activities
