The City of Elizabeth is requesting proposals from qualified individuals and firms to provide Property Tax Counsel Services. The City of Elizabeth receives grants from both the Federal and State governments to provide services to the residents of this City. The Proposer(s) will be required to perform, but not be limited to, the following services: Participate, consult, and represent the City of Elizabeth in all proceedings including appearance at trials and other court appearances pertaining to tax appeals at the Union County Tax Board and New Jersey Tax Court and other venues. Preparation for trials including discovery and motion. Consult with the City Attorney, Tax Assessor, Chief Financial Officer, and Business Administrator regarding tax appeals including the preparation of quarterly and annual reports estimating potential tax appeal liabilities both short term and long term. Attend meetings when requested for City Council and other City events.
