CATEGORY 5: PRIVATE DETECTIVE SERVICES The County of Hudson seeks Qualification Statements from Private Detectives (either individuals or firms) authorized to do business in the State of New Jersey. These services shall be on an "as needed" basis. The successful respondent shall be properly licensed as a Private Detective pursuant to N.J.S.A. 13:55-1.1, et seq. The respondent shall perform in-depth surveillance and investigation services on behalf of the Law Department and the County of Hudson on individuals involved in any type of litigation against the County, including any plaintiff filing a negligence action against the County of Hudson and any Workers' Compensation Claimant. The services described herein shall be used to assess the compensability of any claim and or to defend any claim in the Superior Court of the State of New Jersey or in Federal Court. Respondent shall perform private investigations at the request of the County on any individual and then provide a written report detailing the findings of any investigation. The investigation may include, but not be limited to the following: obtaining oral and written statements from non-party witnesses; performing background checks; obtaining records, data, and other material or objects that may be relevant as decided by the County Counsel or any retained counsel representing the County or an employee of the County. Respondent shall also be required to provide photographic and/or digitally recorded evidence of the surveillance performed. Any information gathered by an investigator may be used by the County in any legal proceeding.
