Specifications include, but are not limited to: Recovery Support Services to Pregnant or Parenting Women with an Opioid/Substance Use Disorder and their Families a) Program will be evidenced-based, value-based and grounded in the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration’s (SAMSHA) Eight Dimensions of Wellness: 1. Emotional - coping effectively with life and creating satisfying relationships; 2. Environmental - good health by occupying pleasant, stimulating environments that support wellbeing; 3. Financial - satisfaction with current and future financial situations; 4. Intellectual - recognizing creative abilities and finding ways to expand knowledge and skills; 5. Occupational - personal satisfaction and enrichment from one’s work; 6. Physical - recognizing the need for physical activity, healthy foods, and sleep; 7. Social - developing a sense of connection, belonging and a well-developed support system; 8. Spiritual - expanding a sense of purpose and meaning in life. b) Program will support the recovery of Somerset County pregnant/parenting women with an opiate/substance use disorder by addressing the following identified SAMSHA recovery needs: 1. Health-overcoming or managing an individual’s disease(s) or symptoms—for example, abstaining from use of alcohol, illicit drugs, and non-prescribed medications if the individual has an addiction problem—and, for everyone in recovery, making informed, healthy choices that support physical and emotional well-being; 2. Home-having a stable and safe place to live; 3. Purpose-conducting meaningful daily activities, such as a job, school, volunteerism, family caretaking, or creative endeavors, and the independence, income, and resources to participate in society; and 4. Community-having relationships and social networks that provide support, friendship, love, and hope (SAMHSA, 2018). c) Provide Somerset County pregnant/parenting women with an opioid/substance use disorder linkage to recovery support services identified by DMHAS and SAMSHA as the following: • Employment assistance • Peer to peer services • Rental/housing assistance or sober living housing • Transportation • Childcare assistance • Education/training assistance • Family counseling and education • Medical or dental services • Linkage to groups such as: relapse prevention, coping/life skills, parenting skills, AA or NA, sponsorship and faith-based
