1,300 S.F., 2” thick bluestone plaza and 250 S.F. brick paver walk with steel edger that connects into existing perimeter paved path. 1,100 S.F. paved path section adjacent to proposed plaza will be re-aligned as part of this contract to accommodate the proposed plaza. Plaza will feature three groupings of bronze sculptures on granite bases (sculptures and granite to be installed by sculptor contractor*). Bases to be supported by 2’ thick concrete, monolithic foundation and individual concrete pedestals for each sculpture grouping. Installation of foundation requires 5’excavation of both quarry fill soils and contaminated historic soils, and placement of light weight fill and normal weight fill within the footprint of the concrete foundation and bluestone plaza to create a load balance. This is a remediation site, with a geotextile cap across the site, 18”-2’ below grade. Owner’s LSRP oversight will be necessary for all work that penetrates the cap. Site restoration will comply with LSRP requirements for cap soils and fabric. Work includes installation of 4 light pole concrete footings (poles, fixtures, controls, & wiring by others), fully operational irrigation system, pvc conduits and pull box for site electric & irrigation, shrub & perennial plantings, and 4 benches. *Coordination required to allow sculptor contractor to drill concrete pedestals and install granite bases after concrete foundation and concrete pedestals fully cure. Only after granite bases are installed will site contractor install bluestone plaza. Installation of sculptures will take place after substantial completion of site work, May 1, 2026 ahead of a Dedication Ceremony.
