❖ Personnel/Employee Matters The School Board Labor Counsel shall provide guidance, counsel, and advice to the Superintendent of Schools and the Board of Education as it pertains to personnel/employee matters. Services shall include, but not be limited to ● Prepare for and attend all grievance hearings arising from the various employee collective bargaining units of the Board. ● Provide written legal advice on all personnel disciplinary actions, including increment withholdings, non-renewals, tenure/non-tenured dismissals, and other employment-related matters. ● Advise the Board of Education and the Superintendent of Schools and/or designee of all laws, administrative code, and policy-related matters, including employee discipline, seniority, tenure, and other personnel administration matters. ● Prepare for and attend all grievance hearings arising from the Board's various employee collective bargaining units. ● Draft all settlement agreements and the corresponding motion for the Board meeting agenda as needed. ● Draft all legal arguments pertaining to employee disciplinary hearings and/or tenure cases. ● Represent the district in all judicial and/or administrative hearings and proceedings pertaining to personnel and employee matters. ● When invited, attend all Board of Education Executive Meetings regarding personnel and employee matters. The sessions may be in person or virtual. ● Any or all other matters pertaining to personnel and employee matters.
