Specifications include, but are not limited to: The program to be purchased through this Request for Proposal will have the following three elements, Assessment and Service Plan, Life Skills Education and a Work Readiness component that includes paid internships at various places of employment. Youth under the supervision of Probation and referred to the program by their respective Probation Officers will meet with program staff to determine their interest in participating in the program. Interested youth will receive an assessment focused on basic skills and job readiness, and based on those results, will develop an Individual Program Plan. Youth can move on to the Life Skills Education component of the program or, if they are prepared to work, the Internship component. Youth are expected to participate in community service activities as well as educational groups. Transportation to and from the program shall be provided. These components are described in more detail below. Proposals must demonstrate through a complete detailed schedule of services that the proposed services will be provided at a minimum during the hours of operation. A detailed calendar of program closures is also required with the proposals. When advertising the program, the NJ Juvenile Justice Commission and Somerset County Youth Services Commission will be listed as the funding source. In accordance with grant conditions promulgated by the Juvenile Justice Commission, all media coverage, contact, inquiries, or stories related to programs funded with JJC funds must be coordinated with JJC at least three weeks in advance.
