Specifications include, but are not limited to: COMPONENT 1 – YARD SERVICES (approximately $25,000.00): Service activities shall include: • In cooperation with the Office on Aging or one of its contracted providers, determine that services are needed due to the fact that there is no family member or other responsible informal caregiver available or capable of providing such services.; • Labor-intensive seasonal tasks such as removing snow, raking leaves, yard care, walk and driveway care, lawnmowing, weed removal, obstructive greenery removal, etc.; COMPONENT 2 – HOME SERVICES (approximately $25,000.00): Service activities shall include: • In cooperation with the Office on Aging or one of its contracted providers, determine that services are needed due to the fact that there is no family member or other responsible informal caregiver available or capable of providing such services.; • Seasonal upkeep activities, such as cleaning attics, basements, and garages which can be provided by non-professional staff.; • Tasks, such as replacing door locks, caulking windows, provision of weatherization improvements, changing screens and storm windows, minor repairs to appliances, and other minor home repairs which are necessary.; • Installation of handrails or ramps to meet the special needs of individual elderly people due to physical disabilities; • Improvements and repairs to siding, doors and windows, and painting done to prevent deterioration and in conjunction with repairs.
