Specifications include, but are not limited to: S-1.1 Work under this contract includes weekly grass cutting, weed trimming, edging and cleanup of grass clippings at Bernards Township facilities, traffic island and/or other properties. All other landscaping/landscape maintenance work is not included in this contract. S-1.2 The contractor(s) shall cut all lawn areas at each location to a height of three (3) inches unless otherwise directed by the Director of Public Works or duly authorized representative. All areas to be cut are shown on the location maps. Under normal growing circumstances it is anticipated that weekly grass mowing will result in the removal of no more than one-third (1/3) of the grass at any one mowing. The contractor(s) shall adjust mowing heights to limit cuts to one-third (1/3) of the grass height when the growth rate of the grass is above normal or when weather or other unforeseen circumstances delay normal grass cutting. S-1.3 The contractor(s) shall perform weed whacking/trimming at each location during each cut. Weed whacking/trimming shall performed around all lawn areas inaccessible to mowing equipment. Weed whacking/trimming shall be performed around all buildings, trees, sign posts, lamp/light posts, utility poles, walls, fences/fence posts and any other obstacles/structures present. S-1.4 The contractor(s) shall perform edging at each location during each cut. Edging shall be performed where lawn areas abut all sidewalks, parking areas, streets, roadways, driveways, curbs, mulch/planter beds and all other paved or finished surfaces. Edging shall be performed using a weed whacker/string trimmer or other suitable equipment designed for edging grass.
