An RBR contains of approximately 300,000 pieces of loose, plastic media that are enveloped by a permeable outer wire mesh that rotates about its axis, in and out of the treatment tank. The biofilm that grows on the media enables the treatment process. The RBR is supported by a cylindrically shaped structural steel frame, 23'-7" long as measured along the axis of the RBR. The frame consists of two (2), 11'-8" diameter solid, structural steel bulkheads that are located, once at each end of the RBR, plus an assembly of various structural steel shapes and plates. The frame is attached to the shaft of the RBR, which rotates at a rate of 1.5 rpm and supports the entire weight of the RBR. B. The scope of this contract is to design, erect and deliver one (1) RBR support structure including the shaft, bulkheads and support framing, but excluding the wire mesh, wire mesh attachment members and shaft bearings.
