The Special Prosecutor and Special Counsel to the Fire Department shall be an attorney at law of the State of New Jersey for at least five (5) years, and shall possess demonstrable experience working with vacant properties in a comparable municipality. The Special Prosecutor and Special Counsel shall be responsible for advising and interacting with the Bloomfield Fire Department and key stakeholders to identify vacant properties and ensure the vacant properties remain in good standing. The Special Prosecutor and Special Counsel shall provide advice on Vacant Property and Property Maintenance Ordinances, Fire Code and Uniform Construction Code ensuring public health and safety. The Special Prosecutor and Special Counsel must be available for consultation on a daily basis if assigned a matter and shall deal directly with the Fire Chief or his/her designee.
