Specifications include, but are not limited to: Provide supplemental snow plowing and spreading services to augment the County of Cape May (County) Road operations fleet of 10 trucks. This is to ensure sufficient service is available after County staged operating shifts, compiling with the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration’s Hours-of-Service Regulations 14-Hour Limit. The County Road Department Supervisor will identify the geographic areas and services required (i.e., plow only, plow, and/or deicer spreading) according to specific accumulation and conditions throughout the County. There are 410 miles of County roads to clear in the event of a snowstorm and it is the intent of County to award multiple contracts to create a pool of qualified Contractors with the proven ability to provide the requisite service, as needed, in a timely manner in accordance with this specification. The hauling and disposal of snow is not required of this contract.
