The Township has a need for Environmental Legal Service to assist the municipality with continuing to quantify environmental liabilities, negotiate with contributing and responsible parties, and to provide a comprehensive and legally defensible case with regard to Veterans Park and surrounding area. The selected Environmental Legal firm must extensive experience to meet the demands and requirements of the ongoing litigation and settlement process, reviewing insurance claims coverage, and working with state agencies such as the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection (NJDEP) on governmental regulations involving soil Remediation and groundwater remediation. The remediation project has been an extended process that has been actively ongoing since 2006. It is the Township’s expectation that the selected firm will assist in taking this project to a conclusion within the next year; at which time the Township will be able to continue with groundwater remediation. Firms and/or person(s) responding to this RFP shall be able to demonstrate the proposed attorney has the knowledge and historical skill to perform the duties of said appointment and meet the responsibilities that are required of the position.
