Specifications include, but are not limited to: The N.C. State Energy Office will soon post a Request for Proposals (RFP) for “Energy Efficiency for New Site-Built Homes, Manufactured Homes and Multi-family Apartments” under the Federal Recovery and Reinvestment Act. Funding will be made available on a competitive basis to designated qualified public entities and private agencies to coordinate new energy-efficient sitebuilt homes or manufactured homes or multi-family apartments (to EPA/DOE’s ENERGY STARlabeled criteria) that preserve environmental quality, conserve natural resources and support economically sustainable development. The program strongly encourages community members, businesses and government entities to work cooperatively to develop programs that improve community well-being, reduce the waste of energy and resources and promote sustainable economic development and revitalization.
