The Early Literacy Specialists shall have the responsibility of providing job-embedded coaching and professional development of Elizabeth Public Schools K-5 general education teachers for the 2025-2026 school year. This initiative is designed to build teacher capacity in delivering literacy instruction grounded in the Science of Reading and aligned with current research, which consists of deepening expertise in foundational literacy and effective planning of data-driven small group instruction. Services must focus on strengthening foundational literacy skills and improving student outcomes through sustained, in-class coaching and professional learning. This work will emphasize the implementation of best practices in early literacy and strive to develop proficient readers in kindergarten through grade 5 from September 2025 through June 30, 2026.
