Specifications include, but are not limited to: Somerset County (owner) is requesting proposals for consultant services to assist the Somerset County Cultural & Heritage Commission (SCC&HC) in the design and development of a comprehensive Docent Training Program that will build capacity and visitor readiness at five (5) Somerset County based history organizations, referred to as the Five General Houses. This initiative is a result of Somerset County’s preparations for increased community engagement during the upcoming 250th Anniversary of American Independence, also known as the Semiquincentennial. Consulting services to include, but not limited to: 1. Research • Consultant shall conduct necessary research and gather information from the Five Generals Houses to inform all components of the project from design to implementation. 2. Program Development and Implementation Process • Consultant shall design, develop, and present a comprehensive set of well-informed, relevant, and accessible Docent Training resources, referred to as the Tool-Kit, that establish a detailed framework for the initial training and continued education of quality history organization volunteers. 3. Strategic Framework • Consultant shall develop a strategic framework for the SCC&HC and create an implementation tool for the growth and future development of the Docent Training Program to include additional historical organizations in Somerset County.
