1. Legal research and or advisory opinions as needed. 2. Research and draft ordinances and/or resolutions 3. Represent the City in litigation in federal and state courts and administrative forums. 4. Review and/or draft contracts, ordinances, and resolutions as needed. 5. Represent the City and/or the Board in rent control matters in federal and state Courts and administrative forums. 6. Address ALL citizen inquiries. 7. Review and/or draft rent control resolutions and ordinances. 8. Attend meetings of the Boards. 9. Attend meetings of the City Council and/or Council Committees upon request. 10. Conduct programs on specified rent control issues for appropriate elected officials, city employees, or other persons upon request. 11. Notify the City and the Board of changes in state law or regulations, as well as Court decisions, that impact the City and the Board 12. Provide necessary information to members of the rent leveling board and determine the vacancy rate of multiple dwellings housing space in the City. 13. Correlate and summarize all pertinent information regarding properties subject to rent regulation and present information to the Rent Leveling Board at a public hearing. 14. Supply information and assistance to landlords and tenants relative to city rent regulations. 15. Resolve complaints between tenants and landlords. 16. Notification of meetings and recording minutes of meetings. 17. Any other matters as directed by the City or the Board.
