Specifications include, but are not limited to: The Scope of Work for which SJTA is currently soliciting proposals includes the engineering design, preparation of permits, document preparation, bidding and construction inspection services necessary for the completion of this project. The Airport currently does not have a dedicated Deicing apron/facility. Deicing operations are performed in designated areas on the commercial terminal apron, away from the gates. The SJTA recognizes the need to provide a centralized deicing facility, outside of the terminal apron, to reduce environmental impacts and improve efficiency of airline operations during the deicing season. SJTA is requesting that Engineering personnel be familiar with SJTA Roadway and Safety Procedures, Airport flight schedules, Atlantic County procedures, FAA Technical Center, NJDOT and State Police. The Consultant agrees that work undertaken, where applicable, will conform, as a minimum, to the current engineering standards and principles used and adopted by the New Jersey Department of Transportation, USDOT, and AASHTO or IBC. The conceptual schedule for the project anticipates the awarding of a design contract in August 2013. It is anticipated that SJTA will provide information to solicit reasonable bids by Mid-June 2014. The scope of services to be performed by the selected Consultant shall include, but not necessarily be limited to, the following: a) Review existing drawings to become familiar with the site. b) Conduct site visits and meet with SJTA staff to gather information, as needed. c) Perform field survey to obtain existing topographic information. d) Provide geotechnical design services to evaluate the bearing support and strength for the design of a De-Icing Facility.
