Essex County Department of Public Works and Essex County Department of Parks, Recreation and Cultural Affairs (The County) wish to have prepared construction documents (i.e., construction plans, specifications and engineers estimate) for building improvements at Branch Brook Park in the City of Newark, to supplement the activities and functions within the community. County of Essex will enter into an agreement with the successful consultant for a duration of the contract, a period of twelve (12) months, one (1) month bidding and award phase, and six (6) months construction. Essex County proposes to renovate the existing bathroom building adjacent to the basketball courts in the Southern Division. The building will be renovated for public bathroom use, with exterior entryways. The following is a summary, but not limited to, of the required Architectural/Engineering efforts related to this contract. • Prepare a preliminary assessment according to NJAC 7:26E-3.1 • Basketball Courts o Resurfacing of existing basketball courts o Repairs as needed to nets, backboards, and scoreboards • Design services for building renovation as follows o Demolition of existing interiors, including the basement o New flooring, ceiling, partitions, bathroom fixtures o Roofing repairs o Window and door repairs o Plumbing and mechanical improvements o Interior and Exterior lighting improvements o Miscellaneous landscaping o Trash receptacles, drinking fountains, benches and amenities o Walkways, pathways, curbing, and masonry repairs o Signage o Tree pruning and removals
