Morris County, on behalf of the Office of the Sheriff, and the County Correctional Facility, is assembling a pool of approximately three to five hearing officers, to assist as needed, in connection with disciplinary actions involving Corrections and Sheriff’s officers.
The County shall choose hearing officers from the pool, as needed, to hear grievances and report findings of fact and recommended discipline, where appropriate. The Hearing Officer shall oversee the entire hearing process, shall be prepared to schedule hearings, research and apply relevant laws and regulations, prepare and issue decisions containing findings of fact, conclusions of law and recommendations for disposition, or other written rulings or decisions. The Hearing Officer shall prepare a report with findings and recommendations within time frames required by relevant union contracts and NJ Department of Personnel regulations.
