Summary of Specifications:
The County of Morris is soliciting proposals from Professional Engineering Consultants, licensed to practice in the State of New Jersey, to provide Construction Inspection Services for Sussex Turnpike Improvements in the Township of Randolph. There is a 0% DBE goal required for this project. The project is being funded by the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) and all their guidelines/requirements need to be followed during construction improvements of Sussex Turnpike.
Technical Proposals (one unbound original, five bound copies and one electronic copy in PDF format) and Cost Proposals (one unbound original and five bound copies in a separate sealed envelope), shall be submitted. The Consultant shall provide services which will include, but will not be limited to, reviewing work planned by the contractor to verify that it is to be carried out in substantial compliance with the contract plans and specifications, and reviewing planned construction materials to be used at the site to verify that they are in substantial compliance with the contract plans and specifications. The Federal Highway Administration will fund the construction inspection services for this roadway improvement; the NJDOT approved overhead rates (as a percentage of direct salary only) shall be used when preparing the Cost Proposal. The Project is to proceed within two (2) weeks after the issuance of a Notice to Proceed from the Morris County Engineer’s office. Duties shall include those outlined in “Tasks”. Costs for all miscellaneous services to complete the work (i.e., mileage, printing, clerical services, testing equipment, hourly rates, etc.) shall be included in the Cost Proposal. All work for professional engineering services to provide construction inspection services under this Contract should be completed within five hundred forty five (545) calendar days from Notice To Proceed.
