Specifications include, but are not limited to: The key goals of the upgrade include: replacement of equipment that is beyond its useful and recommended life, addressing safety concerns, and addressing code-related deficiencies. In general, the proposed WWTF Phase III and IV Upgrade include the following: • Construction of a new Influent Screenings Facility; • Comprehensive upgrade of the Main Pump Station; • Replacement of one primary clarifier and three secondary clarifier mechanisms and the addition of algae brushes to the secondary clarifier launders; • Modifications to the Sludge Holding Tanks; • Modifications to the Headworks Building including a new emergency generator and electrical upgrades; laboratory, restroom/locker room, conference room and office space renovations; replacement of the primary sludge and tank drain piping manifold and two pumps; roof replacement; and miscellaneous structural repairs; • Modifications to the Chlorination Building including electrical upgrades, a new secondary sludge pumping system, and modifications to the existing plant water pumping systems; • Modifications to the Compost Facility ventilation system and construction of a new Amendment Storage Facility; • Comprehensive upgrade of the Souhegan and Thornton’s Ferry Pump Stations; and • Other miscellaneous upgrades throughout the WWTF.
