C-1 PROJECT DESCRIPTION
C1-a) Introduction – The Forest Service (FS) is soliciting bids for the delivery of premium grade hardwood
pellets to the White Mountain National Forest Administration Complex located at 71 White Mountain Drive,
Campton, NH 03223.
C1-b) Description of Work – Delivery is bulk and requires the pellets to be pumped or augured into the 30 ton
capacity silo from the truck. Orders will be placed when needed throughout the season and shall be for a
minimum of 15 tons per order. Delivery shall be completed within 7 days after the receipt of the order. Since
loads are based on bulk truck delivery payment will be made based on actual amount delivered. Contract will
be for 1 base year and 3 optional years. It is estimated that 110 tons of pellets will be required for each
heating season.

Mountain Drive, Campton, NH 03223.
C1-d) Period of Performance – Contract will be for 1 base year and 3 optional years.

Specifications:
All pellets shall meet Pellet Fuels Institute Premium Grade Standards.
Bulk Density: Consistent hardness and energy content, minimum of 40 lbs to 46 lbs/cubic foot.
Diameter: Length (1.5” maximum) and diameter (.25” x .285”) to assure predictable fuel amounts and
to prevent jams in the fuel auguring system.
Length: The bulk delivery shall not have more than 1% pellets larger than 1.5”.
Fines: <0.50% fines
Chlorides: Limited salt content, no more than 300 PPM to avoid the potential of causing equipment to
rust.
Ash Content: Inorganic ash content shall not exceed 1%.
Moisture Content: Moisture content shall not exceed 8%.
