Specifications include, but are not limited to: 5.A registered arborist shall be responsible for all work. For trees to be cabled: Any limb over 8” in diameter, a 5/8” galvanized lag bolt shall be used; any limbs under 8” in diameter, a ½” lag bolt shall be used. Any galvanized cable used shall be a minimum of 5/16”. All pruning shall be done to National Arborist Standards. 6.Take down or removal shall mean the entire tree shall be cut down. Trim shall mean all dead or diseased wood shall be cut from the tree.7.A climbing crew shall consist of a minimum of one (1) climber and one (1) ground man, and may be requested to do either take downs or pruning work.8.Brush cutting crews shall consist of a minimum of two (2) men with brush cutters.9.The Contractor will be solely responsible for all removal and cleanup activities. At the discretion and direction of a Facilities and Grounds representative, the logs will either be disposed of by the Contractor or brought to a site designated by the City. Wood chips will be hauled to a City site for storage until future use.10.When a tree is cut, all pieces 12” in diameter and above shall be cut in 6’ sections; all pieces less than 12” in diameter shall be cut in 4’ sections. All trees taken down must be cut close to the ground.
