The City of Claremont is seeking proposals for sidewalk projects to include the following activities (each location spelled out in bid sheets): • Removal of existing sidewalks • Installation of granite curbing, tipping down at intersections and driveways to pavement. Concrete poured front and back. • Install 1” crushed gravel behind curb and fine grade for paving, at a minimum depth of 4”. • Pave with HMA at a depth of 2” (in certain areas, indicated on the bid sheets). • Saw cut or butt grind all paved driveways within the work area and match pavement in these locations. • Patch pave any disturbed area for curb/sidewalk installation. • Install cast iron truncated domes at each road crossing and crosswalk location. (proper width to meet ADA and PROWAG requirements, cast iron, set in concrete, with 2” border (in asphalt locations). Truncated domes to be supplied by the Department of Public Works. • Landscaping affected areas to match existing, to include, but not limited to loaming and seeding, asphalt, gravel, and stone. This proposal requires the selected firm to: • Provide one (1) bid for the lump sum project. • Provide one (1) bid sheet per location. • Provide one (1) project pricing sheet for possible additional work, if agreed upon • Provide proper traffic control if needed. • Provide adequate protection of work areas with safe passage of pedestrians and motorists alike. • Provide pre-notification to the Department of Public Works two (2) weeks prior to start of construction.
