Crack Repair Application • Material Application: Apply crack repair materials strictly in accordance with manufacturer's recommendations and ASBA best practices (ASBA Chapter 10, Pages 275-276, 284-286). The chosen repair material shall be flexible and capable of accommodating minor thermal expansion/contraction of the pavement. • Types of Cracks & Repair Methods: The Contractor shall propose and execute appropriate repair methods for various crack types, drawing on the expertise outlined in the ASBA Manual (Chapter 10, "Asphalt Cracking," Pages 275-276, and "COMMON COURT SURFACE PROBLEMS," Pages 284-286). This may include: o Hairline Cracks: Filling with appropriate crack filler/sealant. o Structural Cracks: May require routing and filling with specialized flexible crack repair systems. If structural cracks indicate a larger underlying problem, the Contractor shall immediately notify the City (ASBA Chapter 10, Page 276, 285) and follows the procedures outlined in Section 3.6 of this document. o Shrinkage/Stress Cracks: Filling with a flexible crack repair system. o Alligator Cracking: May require more extensive patching or, if severe, localized pavement overlay treatments in accordance with ASBA recommendations.
