Specifications include, but are not limited to: Truckee Meadows Water Authority (TMWA) is accepting sealed bids for all labor, materials, equipment, and incidentals required for the Tank Access Road Improvements project. TMWA’s distribution system includes nearly 100 potable water storage tanks. Many of these tanks are located in remote areas of the system. During the winter of 2016/17, intense rain, runoff, and erosion washed out many of the roads used to access these tanks. The affected sites are in need of repair before further storm damage can occur. TMWA has identified the nine tank access roads that are in greatest need of repair. Work included in this project can generally be broken down into grading of existing dirt roads, grading of roadside ditches, replacement and installation of CMP culverts, and placement of riprap. Locations range from the Lightning W area on the south, to Fish Springs on the north, and various sites in between. The smallest project site includes about 330 linear feet of roadway, and the largest spans approximately four miles.
