Specifications include, but are not limited to: The SERVICE PROVIDER shall provide an outline of the processes and procedures of rest area evaluations.A barrier removal study is required to assess all public rights of way features, including parking, paths of travel,and facilities. For each rest area, objective dimensional measurements shall be made for each path of travel from the parking area to every feature in the rest stop that a visitor with or without a mobility or sensory impairment might encounter. The SERVICE PROVIDER will indicate all the feature types and attributes that will need to be assessed at the DEPARTMENT’s rest area. Objective data shall be recorded and reported to allow comparison with requirements for slopes,grades and dimensional information for the verification of ADA accessibility of all paths of travel and features at each rest stop. The data shall be organized into a facility report,specific to each rest stop. The content of the data in the facility and architectural reports will be organized to assist the DEPARTMENT in establishing priorities for improvements to be made to each rest stop based on the assessment data.The collected data is required to be submitted in ArcGIS format to the DEPARTMENT Headquarters and provide a prioritization report with a draft transition plan.The SERVICE PROVIDER shall outline the tools, procedures, hardware,and software that will be used to accomplish the assessments.Travel to various DEPARTMENT locations statewide and multiple overnight trips will be required.
