Specifications include, but are not limited to: The individual or firm selected will work with City of Henderson employees in an advisory and project management capacity to assist in developing and responding to the public and cultural art needs of the City, assessing and analyzing the current environment, deficiencies, and interests of the community stakeholders as they relate to arts and culture, as well as future possibilities and opportunities for growth in these areas. The consultant will lead a cultural planning process intended to engage local artists, cultural organizations, City leadership and residents across all neighborhoods. Their charge will be to explore ways to strengthen and improve access to the city’s existing cultural assets while suggesting new and innovative ways to expand and fund these programs. ; The resulting cultural plan should provide the vision, policy framework, implementation strategies, organizational structures, funding requirements and sources needed to further develop Henderson’s cultural community, while finding ways to effectively integrate arts and culture into other policy and practice areas. Vehicles for such integration could include public festivals, concerts, events and celebrations, films, lectures, exhibits, arts education in schools and adult learning, visual and performing arts, public art, adaptive arts, and cultural expression.
