This work shall include furnishing all labor, material, and equipment to complete the project WILBUR SQUARE PARK IRRIGATION RENOVATION as described in the specifications and shown in the plans. Work includes replacing the existing irrigation system at Wilbur Square with a new, fully automated system to serve the park’s turfgrass areas. This work shall also include but is not limited to construction of a new point-of-connection to the existing raw water distribution mainline, installation of mainline and lateral piping, booster pumping equipment, pedestalmounted irrigation controller, rain sensor, flow valve assemblies, gate valves, valve boxes, quick coupling valves, etc. The system will utilize a conventional lowvoltage wire setup with supplementary two-wire cable for future conversion. Contractor shall verify existing site conditions and provide all required fittings and connections as shown in the contract documents. The work also includes all turf repair needed due to the work. The Contractor will be allowed to close the whole park for their work operations for the duration of the contract. The Contractor shall fence the park, for their operations if the Contractor decides to close the whole park. The Contractor will be required to maintain the fencing during the work week and over the weekends. The Contractor shall be responsible for insuring any open work areas are safe from the public during non-working hours and over the weekends. NOTE: There are three planned special events in and near this park in March 2026. Two in Bicentennial Park, March 14 and March 21, 2026 (across Colorado Street from Wilbur Square) and one in Wilbur Square on March 28, 2026. The Contractor shall be required to work with the City and the special event coordinator to allow for the event in Wilbur Square to proceed safely. This will include opening available portions of the park for the special event (if the Contractor decides to close the park for the work).
