3.1.1 Remove existing doors, including all applicable interior and exterior trim and finish work. Protect all of existing structure, shrubs, and Agency owned personal property during removal, taking caution to keep all entrances free of hazards. 3.1.2 Always protect from weather. 3.1.3 Remove existing flashing and old caulking. Remove and replace all rotted sheathing, studding sills, and drywall at doors. 3.1.4 All materials removed or replaced shall be the responsibility of the contractor to properly dispose of. Contractors shall clean areas inside the units affected by the construction and all exterior work and landscaping shall be restored to their pre-construction status. 3.1.5 New exterior doors shall be (steel or wood) insulated with (half, full) glazing, with or without grills and adjustable threshold. 3.1.6 Furnish and install continuous weatherstripping, no daylight shall be visible from interior. 3.1.7 Furnish and install PT kick plate under new threshold. 3.1.8 Furnish and install new flashing above exterior doors. 3.1.9 Furnish and install new hardware. Provide hardware schedule and selection to Agency for approval. 3.1.10 The contractor shall ensure that all doors are installed plumb and operate smoothly. 3.1.11 All construction shall be done in accordance with the applicable building codes. 3.1.12 All finish work shall be installed with care, ensuring smooth surfaces with no gaps. 3.1.13 All caulked areas shall have excess caulk removed.
