Specifications include, but are not limited to: The State of Nevada, Department of Public Safety (NVDPS) is seeking proposals from qualifiedvendors to provide a comprehensive property and evidence process review. It is the intent ofNVDPS to award a contract to one vendor for an initial term commencing on the date of approvalby the Board of Examiners (anticipated to be May 8, 2012) and expiring on August 31, 2012.Effective January 1, 2011, the NVDPS evidence function was moved under the Director s Office.Further, effective July 1, 2011, the evidence function administration was centralized into its ownstand alone budget (previously, staff from various NVDPS agencies were responsible for thevarious evidence vaults).Because the function is now centralized under a single chain of command, it is critical for theEvidence Unit to be operating consistently, incorporating best practices across the state.Therefore, it is necessary to hire a contractor with sufficient knowledge of and experience withevidence vaults and property rooms to evaluate NVDPS processes and provide a detailed writtenreport that describes any deficiencies and proposed solutions
